About Us

Brainswap LLC is a boutique software development company and consultancy that specializes in building modern, mobile friendly web applications that run cross-browser, -platform, -device, and -resolution. Founded in 2011 by twin brothers Mark and Mauvis Ledford, Brainswap has offices in San Francisco, CA and New York, NY.

Mauvis Ledford

Co-Founder, HTML5 Mobile Specialist

I'm a full-stack developer specializing in the realm of front-end (HTML5, CSS3, JS). My job is to build it, make it scale, and make it beautiful. My focus is on web applications, from prototyping to front-end-refactoring, optimizing headers, analyzing security, patching XSS and XSRF holes, compressing and minifying with shell scripts, automating redundant tasks, and creating beautiful and efficient user experiences.

Mark Ledford

Co-Founder, Front-End Architect

I've been creating web based application front-ends, rich media widgets, and robust web utilities professionally for 7+ years, long before the word "app" became popular. From Adobe Flash and Flex in the early days of web app technology to the cross-device pure HTML5 / CSS3 / Javascript experience of today, my passion is creating a seamless interactive user experiences with the best technologies available.

Joel Eckroth

Lead Project Manager, Front-End Engineer

I've been doing front-end development for the past 8 years specializing in HTML5/CSS3/JS development and responsive design. I've been fortunate enough to be the lead designer/developer for a large number of exciting clients including U2, Madonna, the NHL, and HBO. I'm extremely passionate about creating successful, highly scalable HTML5 web applications.

Marcos Lara

Product Designer and HTML5 Evangelist

For the last several years I have worked exclusively at the intersection of social and mobile. Most recently I lead the development of AudioVroom.com, a HTML5 mobile web app that earned a spot in Facebook's 2011 F8 conference. I am also a HTML5 evangelist, having traveled the world, teaching developers the power of responsive HTML5 design as part of Facebook's "Mobile Platform World Tour". I love technology as a means to connect people and empowering apps to be social is my passion.
